Enjoy this recipe responsibly during the Holiday season!

Have you already thought about Christmas Eve drink? Something sweet and classy, not too difficult and to keep you awake until midnight? Then this Coffee Truffle drink is just perfect for you!

I am a big lover of creamy, fluffy, coffee, chocolaty drinks. And winter, especially Christmas is a perfect time to indulge yourself with rich and creamy drinks, like this one. I am preparing this drink for Christmas, since we got married with my husband and it is our signature drink.

If you are going to prepare this drink, you want it to look festive, presentable. Best look of this drink would be in a stemless wine glass or stemless cognac glass. But if you don’t have neither of these, classic transparent glass will be fine. I even served them in small coffee espresso glasses and my guests like them as well.

Also real cinnamon sticks would add nice touch up to your drink, you can decorate the glasses with stick, by placing them over the glass and then it’s up to your guest if they want to remove it or use it to stir the whipped cream. You can find them at your closest  grocery store or in a health store.

This recipe calls for alcohol Kahlua, but I have already tried it with Baileys or Irish Cream and it always came out really tasty. Each alcohol has it’s own taste, so it will differ little bit in taste, but if you like more Baileys, go with Baileys.

When it comes to espresso, if you don’t have at home your own espresso machine, it’s fine as well. You will just have to prepare stronger filtered coffee or you may use instant espresso coffee, for example Nescafe instant espresso.

I am adding few spoons of chocolate sauce (melted chocolate) into the drink, to add more richness of chocolate. If you don’t have enough chocolate on hand, you can also use chocolate syrup. Opt more for lighter version, because chocolate syrup is more sweeter, then melted chocolate sauce. To melt chocolate, use microwavable small bowl and add  few pieces (50 g) of chocolate in it. Heat in microwave first on 30 seconds, if it needs more, add extra 30 seconds.

I am loving to have a mix of shaved dark and white chocolate on the top of the whipped cream, it give extra luscious taste to this Christmas drink. Don’t need to get special baking chocolate, use chocolate you already have at home, to prepare chocolate shaves.

Enjoy this drink responsibly!
