OREO DONUTS

These are the BEST OREO DONUTS you will ever taste. Baked, not fried, made with the best quality cocoa powder, dipped in sweet cream cheese and topped with real OREO cookies.

Equipment

Ingredients

For the chocolate batter

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup fine sugar or brown sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 ½ tsps baking powder
  • ½ cup cocoa powder dutch processed
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs room temperature
  • 5 tbsps butter melted
  • 1 cup milk room temperature

For the cream cheese frosting

  • 4 oz (113 g) cream cheese
  • 2 tbsps butter soft
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsps milk room temperature
  • 1 cups Oreo cookies crushed

Instructions

For the chocolate batter

  • Preheat your oven to 177 C / 350 F, middle rack. And grease with butter donut pan.
  • In a large bowl sift all-purpose flour, baking powder, cocoa powder and salt. Whisk together and set aside.
  • In a large bowl of a stand mixer, with the paddle attachment, mix all wet ingredients, then pour in the dry ingredients and mix them together until incorporated.
  • Place the batter into a reusable piping bag, cut the tip and pour the batter into a prepared donut pan. Bake in the oven 177 C / 350 F for 10 minutes.
  • Remove the donuts from the oven and let cool in the pan. After a few minutes remove them from the donut pan and let cool completely on a wire rack.

For the cream cheese frosting

  • In a medium bowl, with hand electric mixer, beat the softened cream cheese, room temperature butter and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Reduce the speed to low and gradually add sifted powdered sugar and milk. Once the milk is well incorporated, beat the frosting on high-speed for 1 minute.
  • Dip the chocolate donuts in the cream cheese frosting and right after dip them in the crushed Oreo cookies.
